East Lincoln Sewer District

I also joined in the effort to get fix the unfairness of the East Lincoln Sewer District financing scheme.

For years the residents of the Sewer District have paid additional real estate taxes to help pay for the District's capital costs.  However, as the District was continually expanding, much of that money was being used to pay for Sewer capital costs that were outside the District until the lines were moved.  A large number of people, myself included, challenged this unfairness, and the two newly-elected county commissioners were also in favor of fixing things.

The county voted to move the Sewer District to a county-wide system, and all NEW capital costs would be borne by the county and/or Sewer users.  The tax will be used to retire existing debt and will eventually vanish.  It's currently just under 2 cents/$1000.
